THE LA-600 was born out of our curiosity when it came to Yiuchi Arai’s horns. They looked like sectoral horns to us but the vanes and slight design peculiarities called to us.

The Arai horn is a hyperbolic CD (constant directivity) horn designed by Yuichi Arai for “serious room listening.” Compared to other horns we’re used to listening to this one tended to sound better to us on axis and had an incredible smooth and delicate detailed sound. I guess thats where the “serious room listening" comment comes from.
The LA-600 has a fc of in between 600hz.The addition of the adapter also gave the horn a new look and gave us the option of playing with different materials and color ways for the 2 pieces.

We’ve seen these designs all over the place, but the first design that sparked this curisoty was the GIP-9700 radial horn. That wooden horn lead us to a deep dive into wooden horns and lead us to Yiuchi’s deisgns. Information about the GIP horn was harder to find than Yiuchis’ designs so we decided to study his to later interpret them in our own way.
The resin horn photos was a project for the homie DVD and Saji Abdule which was for his home. The clear finish achieved was something incredibly difficult to get done in manufacturing. Alot of finsihing techniques and manual labor was done to get the horns finished like that. These were a limited run of 3 horns for his 3 point system designed by DVD.
Unlike exponential horns, the hyperbolic contour gives it a smoother, more controlled expansion from throat to mouth, and the internal fins are the real trick: without them, high frequencies collapse to the center of the horn above 8kHz, so the fins divide the mouth into identical cells sharing a common origin, keeping dispersion consistent all the way up. The throat adapter piece was an adition we added. The entry for the throat of this horn is square which tneds to affect on axis response a bit, so we added an adpater absed on W.E eye form transition to go from the circular throat of the compression driver to the square. the result to us seemed like a smoother response.
