The LS-1090 was born out of our discovery of the W.E KS-12025 horn. We studied the geometries and noticed quite a few things. Firstly, the horizontal disperion is 80 degrees and 2ndly the biradial sweep happens relativly close to the throat like the great ALTEC 311-90. Main difference being the KS is 80 degrees.

After modeling quite a few different designs for a 500HZ cutoff, we wanted to create a smaller bookshelf size for this design. The vanes go quite farther back than the 11-90 series just to help with beaming. Longer vanes also give a bracing to the horn.
The LS-1090 is the result. Taking inspiration of the dimensions and sectoral design of the KS-12025, and the dispersion and sweep techniques in the 311-90.

The horn was designed for Jesus Brazon of CSU for Caracas Bakery to couple with his existed beautiful hand made cabinets. Because of end use and location - bakery, messy, flour, etc - we decided to stick to 3D priting the horns with PLA CF and several finishing stages to achieve the final result.
Upon inquiry they are also available in sand casted aluminum.
