L'ANDREA - ALUMINUM

The L'Andrea Aluminum is a revision of the first L'Andrea, both in its system and materials. It carries the same philosophy as the first iteration but with a focus on system efficiency. We swapped to more efficient, sensitive woofers and tweaked the port lengths to push the system further. We wanted this speaker to perform in terms of speed and sensitivity [something V.1 wasn't built around] while keeping in mind the natural tension between sensitivity and extended bass response.

Right around the time we finished the build, a metal fab shop nearby was discarding a batch of scratched and rejected aluminum sheets. We kept them. The sheets were cut, bent, and drilled to create a shield for the cabinet, giving the speaker a patina rooted in found material.

These are intended as a two-point system, though subwoofer integration can add a satisfying low-end extension.
